Bring your own group and split the cost.
Group sessions are the same preparation and the same tutors as 1-on-1, at $50 for the whole session however many students are in it. The one condition: you form the group yourself — 2 to 4 students in the same course. We do not pair you with strangers.

The maths
One session costs $50. What each student pays depends only on how many of you there are.
Charged at $40 an hour for the group across a 75-minute session. The total does not move when you add a student — the split does.

For comparison, 1-on-1 is $30 for a 60-minute session — one student, one tutor, and the whole hour aimed at them. A group trades some of that attention for a longer session and a lower price each. Splits that do not divide evenly are rounded to the nearest cent.
Before you book
You bring the group. We do not assemble one.
This is a real condition of the format rather than a detail in the terms. There is no waiting list and no matching service — if we paired students who had never met, half the advantage of a group would go with it.
In practice that means siblings, or friends and classmates taking the same course. One person books the consultation and speaks for the group; everyone's material gets reviewed before the first session.

What we ask you for.
The same short form as 1-on-1, filled in once per student so the tutor knows where each of them actually is.
Both are optional and neither is needed to book. They exist for one reason: a tutor who has seen the work already knows where to start, so the first session is spent teaching instead of diagnosing.
The mark you are aiming for, and by when
A number and a date. Everything else is planned backwards from it, so a specific answer here is worth more than a long one.
Your student's course outline, or ours
We can teach directly from the outline their teacher issued, or use Origin's outline for that course. Either is fine — this is your call, and you can change it later.
Anything else we should knowOptional
How they take feedback, what has already been tried, a diagnosis, a rough term at school. Anything that would change how we teach them.
A recent graded testOptional
Marked, with the teacher's comments still on it if possible. Where marks were lost tells a tutor far more than the number at the top.

You already know everyone
It's your group — a sibling, a friend, someone from your class. Nobody has to perform for strangers, and asking the obvious question is a lot easier when it's not a room of people you've never met.
Someone else asks your question
Half the value of a group is hearing the thing you were too unsure to ask get answered anyway. You'll also end up explaining something to someone else, which is when you find out whether you actually understood it.
You still get the hour aimed at you
The tutor has read everyone's material beforehand, so time gets spent where the group is actually stuck — not marched through a lesson plan that suits nobody in particular.

No, and this is the main thing to know before booking. You bring the group yourself — siblings, friends, or classmates in the same course. We do not put strangers together and we do not keep a waiting list to pair you up, so nobody is left waiting on us to find them a partner.
The session is priced for the group rather than per student, so the cost of a session does not change when someone misses one — the remaining students simply split the same total. If the group falls below two for good, talk to us at that point and we will sort out where that leaves the rest of the package.
For it to be worth doing, yes. The whole advantage of a group is that one explanation lands for everyone in the room. Students in different courses end up taking turns rather than working together, which is slower for all of them than separate 1-on-1 sessions would be.
Twenty minutes, and it is a conversation rather than a sales call. We go through where your student is now, the mark you are aiming for and by when, and whether their own course outline or ours is the better fit. If you have sent a recent test or report card, we will have read it beforehand. You leave knowing what we would do and roughly how long it would take — and you are not asked to decide anything while you are on the call.
You buy one package at a time and nothing renews on its own. There is no subscription, no minimum term beyond the package you chose, and no contract to get out of. When a package ends, continuing is a decision you make again rather than one you have to cancel.
Online, so there is no travel either way and a session can happen from wherever your student actually studies. You will get the joining details by email before the first one.
Grades 6 through 12, taught against the Ontario curriculum. We tutor by specific course rather than by broad subject, so the consultation is where we confirm we can properly staff the exact course your student is taking — and we will tell you plainly if we cannot.
No. They are genuinely optional and booking never depends on them. They only exist to save time: a tutor who has already seen the work starts teaching in the first session instead of spending it working out where the gaps are.

About anything you send us
Anything you send is used only to prepare for your student's sessions, and is seen only by the people at Origin preparing them. It is never shared outside Origin, and you can ask us to remove it at any time.
